Ensō is a conceptual music album – a sonic dream book of musical journeys from one’s roots throughout the world of international influences and towards the rediscovery of native musical traditions. In Zen, ensō is a circle which is hand-drawn in one uninhibited brushstroke, expressing a moment when the mind is free to let the body create. A circle – a symbolic metaphor for travels, reoccurrences of sound patterns in music, and a symbol of the cyclical narrative of ebbs and flows – an expression for a gathering of musician friends creating together.
